M.2 NVMe SSD Cooling and Installation Accessory Kit
Component Breakdown
- Aluminum Heatsink: The grooved black metal block acts as a passive radiator to pull heat away from the flash controller and NAND chips.
- Thermal Silicone Pad: The green rectangular strip transfers heat efficiently from the smooth top surface of the SSD to the metal heatsink.
- Mini Screwdriver: A specialized pocket-sized hand tool used to secure the tiny hardware to your motherboard.
- Mounting Screws & Standoffs: Small metallic fasteners located at the bottom to lock down the SSD or secure the heatsink jacket.
- Prep the SSD: Remove any clear plastic covers from the drive. Avoid removing the manufacturer label sticker unless the instructions explicitly say to do so.
- Apply Thermal Pad: Peel the protective plastic film from both sides of the green thermal silicone pad. Lay it directly flat on top of the SSD chips.
- Mount the Heatsink: Press the black aluminum heatsink firmly onto the thermal pad. Secure it using the included rubber bands, side clips, or bottom frame screws depending on the specific model's closure method.
- Install onto Motherboard: Insert the drive into the M.2 slot at a 30-degree angle. Push it down flat, align it with the standoff on the motherboard, and use the mini screwdriver to tighten the tiny mounting screw.
